Highlights from Breckenridge Spring Fever

For more details click on the image

The sun was warm, the mountain runs were awesome, the food and drink were fantastic. It was only a few days in the month-long celebration of Spring Fever in Breckenridge, but plenty of good times were had. Here are some highlights from Breckenridge Spring Fever.

Favorite Drink- The Café Le Ninja at Coppertop at the Peak 9 base was smooth, sweet, and perfect at the end of the day. If you want to know what's in it, you'll have to go there and try it for yourself. Too busy loving it at the time to take note.

Favorite Lodging Amenity- The view from the Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge. Great pics of Peaks 9 and 10, and great way to wake up in time to enjoy the mountain.

Favorite Restaurant Deal- Breckenridge restaurants were offering an $18.59 deal for Spring Fever. At Briar Rose, $18.59 got you two courses from the $18.59 menu. The shrimp and beef tips were just awesome, and lived up to the Briar Rose's reputation of gourmet cuisine.

Favorite Mountain Run- All, even the green ones, because they were great for killing time until the powder softened up from freezing the night before.

Favorite Spring Fever event (while there)- "5 'til 5" addressed the basic need of anyone skiing and riding on the mountain- the lifts and trails are never open long enough. Add great music, food, contests, and giveaways and it's like a party scene from a ski movie, minus the thin plot and cheesy dialogue.

Even though college for me was four lifetimes ago, if I have a spring vacation next year, I'm going back to Breck.

Breckenridge Spring Fever continues, with a full schedule of events remaining both on and off the mountain. If you can make it, check out GoBreck.com for a full schedule of events for the rest of the month.

Live Blog- Breckenridge Spring Fever

Location: Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge, Breckenridge, CO

So I'm in here in Breckenridge for some snowboarding before season's end and checking out Spring Fever, a month long festival of free music, great food, and on-slope events to celebrate the arrival of spring. The weather is sweet right now in town (jacket optional), and it's perfect for cruising main street. Tomorrow, I'll be checking out the "5 'Til 5" Terrain Park Happy Hours which is every Thursday from 2-5 PM through April 21, 2011. 5-Chair Lift, Freeway, and Park Lane will be open until 5 with DJs, free BBQ, giveaways and contests. Check out GoBreck.com for packages and a full events calendar for Spring Fever.

While being new to Breck during ski season, I got the inside scoop and solid attack plan from the magnificent Rachel, from the Breckenridge Resort Chamber to take on the mountain. It turns out that April is isn't a busy time for Breck since the Spring Break rush from all the colleges is done in March, so it's a great time and locale for getting on the slopes before season's end, which is April 19, 2011 weather permitting. Of course it could all change once the word gets out, so if you can get out here by the weekend, do so. Definitely check it out next season.

I'll also be checking out the Gold Runner Coaster courtesy of Austyn, from Breckenridge Ski Resort as a diversion while on the mountain tomorrow. Should be fun!

That's all for now from the Lodge & Spa at Breckenridge. Time to check out their fitness center, and take in the KILLER view from here(see above) before sundown.

If you've got a story from Breck in April, share it here.
